MeadowLea is made with the natural goodness of plant seeds. In fact, each tub is made from over 70,000 canola and sunflower seeds.
MeadowLea is proud to be supporting Australian Farmers; as we use only Australian grown, Non-Genetically Modified canola seeds. In Australia, canola is grown in the winter months, harvested in November / December and is the largest oil seed crop grown in Australia.
Sunflowers are native to South America and MeadowLea’s sunflower seeds come from Argentina. Sunflowers are a summer crop and can grow as high as 2 metres.
Why are seeds so good for you?
The majority of seeds used to make MeadowLea are canola seeds, with some sunflower seeds to obtain a good mix of plant seed oils. Vegetable and seed oils are excellent sources of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. These oils are considered the 'good oils'.
What are the benefits of canola seeds?
Each canola seed contains lots of monounsaturated oils and useful amounts of beneficial omega-3 fats. These essential fats are required to carry out important internal functions like building cell walls, regenerating healthy skin, protecting heart muscle and making many hormones. One 10g serve of MeadowLea Original provides 450mg of omega-3, which is 35% of an adult’s daily requirements.
